Loaves and Fishes

A bespoke accessible website for an East Kilbride food bank.

The Mission:

Loaves and Fishes came to me because their old website had gone down, and they'd been abandoned by their previous designer. They needed a website that:

  • Made customers feel welcomed, and confident in all the ways that Loaves and Fishes could help them.
  • Shared helpful resources, such as video content with recipe ideas.
  • Highlighted how businesses and members of the public can support this vital food bank.

Bespoke Accessible Web Design

I designed a bespoke website with the main goals of showcasing all of the ways that Loaves and Fishes help those in need, shared how others can help to support the charity, and made it easy for anyone to contact Loaves and Fishes either directly through the website, or giving them a call.

Care was taken throughout the process to ensure that the colour palette for the website worked with their current logo, but offered a high contrast ratio for easy reading. The website's simple layout and navigation was vital, as Loaves and Fishes often support older customers who aren't super tech-savvy, and people who have a different first language to English.
